Local, browser-managed storage

Event saving is off by default. When you enable it, Rapid Cactus keeps event media in this browser’s local Event History until you export or delete it. Browser storage availability and eviction rules vary, so saved events are not permanent storage.

Estimate local storage

Choose conservative values for your scene. An event is normally a five-second segment with review frames and, where supported, a local video clip.

How the estimate works

Daily storage is events per day × selected average bytes. Total storage is daily storage × retention days, then increased by the selected safety margin. The result is approximate: resolution, codec support, scene complexity, review frames, clip availability, and browser implementation can all change the real size.

Retention and clearing

Settings can retain the newest 1 to 120 events, or use 0 for no event-count retention limit. Storage can still fill up or be cleared by you or the browser, so lower the event count, delete events in Event History, or disable saving when you no longer need local evidence.
